Our History
A family owned and run company for six generations
JGC’s history can be traced back over six generations of the same family and has its roots in blacksmithing. The company founder, Jock Campbell, took the decision to move away from traditional blacksmith works and into the field of welding. As a result, JGC Welding Company was founded in 1972.
JGC prospered in the following years and extended its range of services, evolving from being a welding service provider into the specialist and multi-disciplined engineering services provider that it is today.
In 2000, the incumbent directors felt that the company had outgrown its title, so the new company name of JGC Engineering and Technical Services Ltd was introduced to better portray the wide range of services that the business could offer.
JGC’s vast experience in the nuclear, oil and gas and offshore renewables sectors has ensured that we are now regarded as one of the UK’s leading fabrication and specialist engineering companies.
